They have featured teachings and technique that help ministers, missions, churches and other faith- and community-based nonprofits to build lasting relationships, develop positive grant writing skills, and build relationships with funders. He is the Founder and President of Artful Askers (www.ArtfulAskers.com)

-We will empower you with leads to funding and other resources.

The primary concepts that will be taught?
Money is not THE problem blocking faith- and community-based nonprofit organizations in their serving others. . . There is money for ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING you can imagine IF you are following simple principles like being other-oriented, clearly communicating who you are and what you do--especially in writing, and more! Billions of dollars are changing hands NOW! Through individuals, foundations, corporate-giving programs, churches, and the state and federal government. BUT most people don't know what they don't know in sharing their vision in writing, stewarding relationships already around them, and engaging in relationships through approval AND/OR rejection. You would NOT be asked/called to meet the needs in your community and then expected to do it on your own.

The Artful Askers Workshop is designed to answer questions and help people KNOW what they need to know to access money to do what they have been called to do. We teach people to do their part and empower a grassroots movement of organizations desiring to serve needs in their communities with a process that works! Once someone attends the workshop OR watches the video, we do not charge anything to help and coach them because we can speak the same language and concepts. This is truly our ministry. Our desire is to serve the servants.

The three main parts of the process are:
1) having a convincing, compelling, and concise written document--your vision--in a format professionally written in an "other-orientation" or reader-based way. Two thirds of the effectiveness of the written document is content. The other one-third is format. The written document accounts for 25% of the success of the overall process. Read Habakkuk 2:2-3. The written document MUST reflect YOUR vision AND your character--and that of the organization. But you must be aware of who funders are, to whom they give, and REALLY KNOW your own organization before engaging in writing the elements of the document: A 1 ½ page cover letter with hard- and soft-data; your mission statement in 25 to 40 words or less and vision statement in one paragraph; A statement of the problem and a solution in ½ page; Your strategic plan and a budget in 1 page each. . . and much more.

2) the research (who to lay it in front of, when, what to ask for, etc. . .). You probably have many contacts with funders BUT don't know what you don't know. We teach there is more than enough money within a 50-mile radius of you and show you where to go locally at a library to find the research of individuals, corporate-givers, and foundations specifically for your area and topic of interest. The research accounts for 25% of the success of the overall process. You would not be called to do something and then expected to fund it yourself. BUT you must do your part!

3) developing the relationship from either an approval OR rejection. Ten lepers got what they wanted and had their full grants approved but only one returned to show sufficient appreciation and engage in a relationship. The widow gave MUCH by her standards but not much compared to others--can you appreciate the small gifts as much as the large? What about when you don't get what you want or are rejected? Can you be grateful and appreciative--even in rejection? This is 50% of the success of the overall process. Although we cannot tell you how to DO relationships, we give guidelines that have proven to work.

Bob Vickers and Artful Askers teaches that you have enough contacts with first- or second-generation relationships, geographic relationships, and/or field of interest relationships to fund almost every need in your community. BUT YOU must do YOUR part, be a good steward,  yield, so that He can accomplish through you what you cannot even dream of but He wants to do. The KEY is stewardship of ALL relationships--even those with funders.

You must know what you know and be able to express what you know without telling everything you know to a potential funder! You WILL LEAVE THIS WORKSHOP equipped and empowered to engage in the entire process of building relationships with funders and will be able to help yourself--NO dependency on consultants!
