N  urturance and Understanding

Seven positive words for each negative word you speak. . . WOW!

Think about that for a few minutes--if you were required to speak seven positive words for every single negative word you spoke, wouldn't you want to speak fewer negative words?

Especially to people that mean something to you or that you are around a lot.

That is what is required in meaningful relationships. According to psychological research, every single negative word that is spoken requires seven positive words to "repair" the damage that is done. . . to your spouse, a child, a friend, a Pastor, a neighbor, or a stranger (much less an enemy!). God requires that we build and strengthen--not tear down. God adds and multiplies--not subtract and divide.

Are you willing to committ to build those around you?

Remember, this is only ONE of the important qualities and characteristics that must be present and growing for relationships to be successful. If you are strong in this area--GREAT! Remain strong and growing in it! Then, work on the other qualities and characteristics. They ALL must be present and growing in ALL relationships! How are you doing on all the others, too?
